Employment Contracts Template – with extra options

£49.00

Employment contracts template. Use this for a permanent job – it comes with many options including for fixed term, furlough, lay-off and probation

Did you know that when you employ someone you must give them a written summary or statement  the main terms of their employment before or on the day they commence working for you (April 2020). This is a written document which explains important things about their job, like pay and holidays. If you don’t do this, you could be fined.

The employee doesn’t have to sign the summary – they don’t have to agree it with you. If you don’t cover everything in the statement, then the employee can rely on things that you have said and look at how other similar employees are treated. That can be confusing and cause problems. For example, when is the employee entitled to overtime?

Use an Employment Contract

Since you must give employees a written summary, it makes sense to give them a contract of employment. A contract should be signed by the employment to show they agree. It will usually contain more information than the summary. For example, you might just include a job title or brief description of the job in a summary. You could explain more about what you expect from the employee in their employment contract.

An employment contract means that both you and the employee know and agree where you stand.

This flexible employment contract guides you through what you need to include. You can cover the basic and important issues, like pay. You can then choose from a range of options. For example, do you want the employee to have a probation period? Do you want to be able to furlough or lay-off the employee?

It is easy to use and comes with guidance to help you get the employment contract you need.

Employment Contracts Template?

WHY SHOULD I USE THIS EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS TEMPLATE?

This employment contract is for a permanent employee. It covers the basic things that you need to include. It then guides you through important extra information which will make your relationship clearer and easier. For example, do you want to have a probation period? Are you going to pay overtime? How and when can holidays be booked? What happens if the employee is sick? What are the hours of work? Do you want to include optional lay off  if there is a temporary reduction in work or a temporary closure of the workplace?

Remember, you have to give employees a written statement about the main conditions of their employment.

WHAT’S IN THE EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS TEMPLATE?

Employment contracts need to be flexible so we’ve made sure ours is easy to adapt and use. Firstly, start with the basics that you need to include. Then, let the contract help you decide what’s best to protect the employee and your business. For example, spell out what standards of work and time keeping you expect. Then, explain the employee’s responsibility for their workload. Finally, be clear about confidentiality and security.

You can decide whether you want to include optional clauses. Like being able to furlough an employee or ask them to work less hours.

It means that the working relationship with your employee gets off to a clear start.

HOW TO USE OUR TEMPLATE

The employment contract is an MS Word document which you can downloaded. It is written in plain English by experienced lawyers and is easy to use. It comes complete with guidance to help you personalise it to meet your own needs.
